School of Languages
Undergraduate Program of Chinese Language and English/Hindi
Seacom Skills University established in compliance with West Bengal Government’s Policy (Gazette Notification no. 142-Edn(U) dated 31/01/2013 and legislated by West Bengal Act VI of 2014.
Seacom Skills University is founded upon the core belief in the inseparability of knowledge and skills. It deliberately dismisses as archaic and counterproductive the divisive dichotomy between thinking and doing , contemplation and action. Naturally, the pedagogical principle at work here is not merely “learning by studying”, but the more holistic “learning by doing”. Education without contemporary competency is shunned at SSU. This University equally values (in principle) and emphasizes (in practice) multiple dimensions of learning, namely “what do”,” why do” and” how to”; and simultaneously works towards inculcating, among students and teachers alike, the indispensable attitude of “want to”. The “habit” of “effective education” is cultivated at the meeting ground of knowledge, skill and desire called the Seacom Skills University.
